The weather continues to taunt us all. Edinburgh played a game in the twilight zone; club games are piling up for the new year; and social networking sites have become painfully, boringly predictable. “Awww I hate this snow!” Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz……..
The newly released IRB World Rugby Yearbook clocks in at a hefty 640 pages and, much as you would expect from the title, is stuffed full of facts and opinion on the world of rugby. The eagle-eyed amongst you will have noticed that is pretty much the same as this very blog. But with (way) more facts, and less Scotland. We take a look inside and offer you a chance to win one. Festive cheer indeed!
A new large-named and largely unheard of sponsor was announced for Scotland’s Autumn Tests, to replace the usual bank. I suppose from that point of view it is a change, and less for the anti-banking lobby to whinge about. I’d be quite happy for them to spend my tax pounds sponsoring Scottish Rugby. Pothole, what pothole?
So in the end last week wasn’t so bad. Glasgow conquered the Dragons. Edinburgh where unlucky to lose (Thanks to the ‘Knee of God’). In Delhi Scotland just missed out on a semi-final place, and finished a respectable 6th. This is almost erring on the side of a positive week! Throw in some liberated miners, some fat-headed American tycoon-types getting chased out of Liverpool, and some posh people getting slagged off on the Apprentice. Yup…good week so far!
News has reached my ears of yet another rugby competition from O2 (sponsors of England) and once again you can have the chance to win some, um, England goodies. Anyway if you are on the O2 priority list (whatever that is) and have an English wife/girlfriend/cousin who would probably quite like a trip to Rome, you can click here to play the O2 Rugby Game. Where is Murray group offering us the chance to win a trip to Dublin? At least STV do have a competition somewhere (unknown) to win tickets to the France game. Guess you’ll just have to watch the highlights show and write down the address though, buggered if I can find it.
