Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith revealed his team to take on Benetton at Scotstoun this evening. He has made 12 changes to the side that faced Cell C Sharks.

The front row sees a whole new combination working together with Murphy Walker returning from the Scotland camp to join Oli Kebble and Fraser Brown.

Sintu Manjezi will be packing down with debutant Alex Samuel in the second row. Sione Vailanu makes his first Scotstoun appearance with Ryan Wilson and Gregor Brown joining him the back row.

Jamie Dobie returns to the Glasgow side after a brief stint on the side lines after a hamstring injury during his summer loan at Bay of Plenty. He is joined at halfback by Domingo Miotti who is making his first appearance of the 2022/23 season.

The midfield sees both Stafford McDowall and skipper Kyle Steyn return from the Scotland camp to team up, having been deemed surplus to Gregor Townsend’s requirements.

It is a fast and furious back three as Rufus McLean and Sebastian Cancelliere man the wings with Josh McKay completing the starting XV.

Once again Smith and his coaching staff once again have opted for six-two split on the bench.

The most experienced Warrior on the bench, Johnny Matthews is joined by Simon Berghan and Nathan McBeth as front row cover. JP du Preez and Lewis Bean providing cover for the engine room, Bean is set to make is his first outing since the first round of the URC. Sean Kennedy and Tom Jordan round off the matchday 23 with Jordan rotating to the bench after starting the first 5 games.

Overall it is a strong looking team considering the number of players away on international duty or injured. As long as everyone is on form I think it will be a very interesting tussle at Scotstoun.

  1. Fantastic game from Glasgow, a full 80 minute performance and not one of the wider squad had a bad game. Even Simon Berghan was a wrecking ball in the scrum and looking hungry.

When was the last time Glasgow conceded no point?
