  1. Glasgow have picked 3 poweful ball carriers in their backrow and yet only Dempsey seems to have turned up.
M Fag and Vailanu need to step up.

    oh and the lineout… wtf?

  2. Toulon better but where are our dogs. Left thinking dogs wouldn’t have let this happen. Some fight and aggression to unsettle them might have helped. Always remember how we’ve been battered before and lost. And been ok with that. Anyway. Just feeling we’ve been soft.

  3. well that was comprehensive. I don’t think Glasgow won one aspect of that game.
Scrum, lineout, breakdown, maul, phase play. Toulon won the lot. reality check for Glasgow.

  4. Glasgow well beaten but contributed to this – line-out an inexplicable shambles, Du Preez is gigantic Cummings is a scottish international, they could get no-where near the ball, really poor by Brown.
Serrin and Olivier a class apart, I agree with YE above- Wilson would’ve have at least riled /got in their faces.
    Glasgow unlucky with 10s

    1. Why did Glasgow persist with middle and back in the line out when it was not going well ! It was a total mismatch , I enjoyed our last try, Steyne has been doing that all season long for Glasgow and Scotland. Struggling to find a positive just now. We still have a long way to go , maybe that is the positive.

  5. What is it with Fraser Brown and throwing to the back of the lineout? Eight years on from “that throw” v Australia in the 2015 RWC he’s still doing it at crucial times close to his own line.Front ball every time Fraser! Richie Gray and Darge should have started-or been on after half an hour. And,of course,Turner should have been somewhere in the 23. Ok probably still wouldn’t have won-Toulon were excellent-but at least might have made it a bit more competitive.

  6. Just more evidence, sadly, that scottish teams struggle in the big games. Tend to be error prone and timid. Better teams hang on in there and make most of opportunities when they come

  7. Yep, disappointing in the extreme and redolent of bigger issues in the Scottish game and its psyche.

Still, Glasgow won as many trophies as Leinster this season…

    1. What are the bigger issues and Psyche in Scottish rugby? Glasgow were top 4 in the URC! Something is working. Toulon is full of Senior International Players , we made a lot of mistakes but basically were outplayed by very experienced men. Franco may have been caught out , maybe started with Darge, Gray and Price. My only criticism would be that he should have had them on at half time. That was a good bench if we were still in the game at 60 minutes, but we were clinging by fingernails at 40 minutes.

    2. As the saying goes: When the going gets tough the tough get going. Agree that the Scottish sides struggle with this in general. Glasgow over last few weeks were not the same as mid season. Mental strength is something the Irish have and we need to learn

  8. Congrats to La Rochelle. Kept at it and Leinster beaten in their own Lions den.

  9. I think it’s telling that the Munster game and Friday night were the only games this season where I’ve seen the Glasgow lineout maul get nowhere, and once that bubble had burst, we seemed a bit lost for ideas.

We became too predictable and our reluctance to fall back on a territorial kicking game eventually cost us. Lots to work on, but lots to look forward to as well.

  10. Embarrassing that…5th place in the league can win the URC…1st place..nothing…Mad world eh?

  11. What a classy kick by Hastings to set up that Falou try, battle for 10 jersey getting very interesting as back up between him and Kinghorn.

    Very fun game so far.

  12. Reflecting back on Dublin we did miss some sound to rouse the players v the Toulon brass band and drums … do we have an official Warrior piper .. do we need one?
