Scotland U20s went down fighting against a New Zealand side with a result that while no surprise represented a considerable improvement on recent efforts.

The sides were only 9 points apart at half time until New Zealand stretched out their lead in the second half. As is usual at this level, tiredness and the benches kicked in to put a further gloss on the score for the baby Blacks.

Scotland struggled in the scrum but the rolling maul was an effective weapon. Fraser Renwick, Darcy Graham and Josh Henderson scored the tries along with a Blair Kinghorn penalty. The Scots also had another maul try referred to the TMO but it was deemed inconclusive.

  1. Not the worst result, but would have been better if not for some very iffy tackling for at least three of the tries.
Highlights on ITV4, and again on Sunday.

  2. Thanks for the post Alan, very surprised no responses. We need to support these boys and keep up with their progress. Hope we smash the bloody Irish tomorrow
