Teams for the Weekend

That should probably read “team”, seeing as the Glasgow game vs Treviso is off despite a number of internationals offering to return to the fold and bolster the team. Of course the reason is not a lack of players, but the ice and snow which has hampered transport and playing conditions for rugby up and down the country. Some say it is the frozen tears of a million England football fans.Ospreys vs Edinburgh will (it is hoped) go ahead, and sees Welshman David Bishop (in on a temporary contract) get his first start in an Edinburgh shirt. So without a Glasgow team to give you, and not wanting to be done by Trading Standards, I’ll chuck in the Ospreys line-up too, which has a veritable pride of Lions keeping their manes warm on the bench.

Ospreys: Lee Byrne; Nikki Walker, Andrew Bishop, Ashley Beck, Richard Fussell; Dan Biggar, Jamie Nutbrown; Duncan Jones, Richard Hibbard, Craig Mitchell, Alun Wyn Jones (capt), Ian Evans, Justin Tipuric, Marty Holah, Ryan Jones.
Replacements: Mefin Davies, Paul James, Adam Jones, Ian Gough, Jonathan Thomas, Mike Phillips, James Hook, Tommy Bowe.

Edinburgh: Chris Paterson, Jim Thompson, Alex Grove, David Bishop, Tim Visser, David Blair, Mike Blair, Kyle Traynor, Andrew Kelly, Geoff Cross, Estaban Lozada, Fraser McKenzie, Netani Talei, Ross Rennie, Roddy Grant (capt).
Replacements: Ford, Jacobsen, Young, S Turnbull, MacDonald, Laidlaw, Houston, Jones
