Like a startled cow, it’s time to stagger away from the debate over the Scotland 34 (how did they sneak another player into the squad?!) as this weekend sees Edinburgh take on an unbeaten Ulster and the Warriors attempt to overcome the Ospreys.
The Glasgow boys have had a few days off and will be over their poor (but exciting) showing in London, but the Ospreys offer a stern, physical test. Hopefully Glasgow will be able to up the tempo and utilise their nimble footed players… ‘cos last week one Ospreys star did this…..and then this….. Yuck… Praise be to Holah, then, that Williams, Byrne and Alun Wyn Jones are all DEFINITELY out on Sunday. Is Nikki Walker really much more of an easy opponent, though?
And then we have the Edinburgh riddle. It’s impossible to predict how they will do at Ravenhill. Sure King will be buoyed with his second start. Sure Jim ‘The Bear’ Thompson will be buoyed with his Scotland call-up. Sure McKenzie will be buoyed with his recent run of form. Rennie will be buoyed by his call-up, and return to action. Everyone is buoyed; so why can’t they win?!
Worse than this, Ulster (according to one of my ‘reliable’ overseas sources, Neil ‘Big Rig’ McComb) are brimming with confidence and are literally “scared of no one in the Magners League.” If I had Ruan Pienaar and Muller playing the way they are right now, I’d be confident, too! Thankfully Wannenburg is on the bench…
So while Edinburgh have to formulate a plan to get Visser the ball every second play on Friday and Glasgow have ‘til Sunday*(see comments) to buy a giant cuddly toy for Jerry Collins YOU will be down at local grounds on Saturday watching Club Rugby!…
Which one of these catches your eye?
Expect the leagues top 3 teams to enjoy heavy wins, but the rest are up in the air, just now.
(There could be an upset in Hawick, though- they’re due a home win…)
Who do you fancy?

The bet’s still a bore draw, too. 3 losers, come the end? Wouldn’t be the first time, but let’s keep the glass half full…
Actually according to the TV guide the Ospreys game has been bumped up to tonight. That was the one they were trying to shift from Sunday I believe, perhaps it has been a success?
Turns out it is actually on Sunday, ignore the Sky TV Guide!
