Lions vs Springboks 2nd Test Teams

SCOT MAKES THE BENCH SHOCKER

Well done to Ross Ford who probably showed enough in his game on Tuesday to sneak on to the bench. Monye ruthlessly punished for missing his chances on Saturday. It’s all on the line now. Apart from Ellis, it’s a pretty strong bench too. Sorry to see Hook miss out as I think he’s looked sharp and welsh “wizard” Shane Williams is given one last chance…

Lions: Kearney, Bowe, O’ Driscoll, Roberts, Fitzgerald, Jones , Phillips,  Jenkins,  Rees,  A Jones, Shaw, O’Connell, Croft, Wallace, Heaslip

Replacements: Ford, Sheridan, Wyn Jones, Williams, Ellis, O’Gara, S Williams

Schalk “Cheese” Burger has been brought back in for the impressive Broussow, otherwise the frontline team remains pretty much as is.

Replacements: C Ralepelle (Bulls), D Carstens (Sharks), A Bekker (Stormers), D Rossouw (Bulls), H Brussow (Cheetahs), J Fourie (Lions), M Steyn (Bulls).

  1. An obsevation, none of the players that came on as subs on Tuesday even make the bench. Strongly implies Big Nathan would have made the starting XV were it not for that ban.

  2. Why doesnt Mike Blair just pack his bags and come home, he clearly doesnt fit into any of the plans of the Taffia or McG. In four years time in Oz, will we see and of Tom and Max Evans, Richie Vernon, Fordy, Euan Murray, Cussie, Rory Lamont, Ben Cairns, Stroker, Johnny Barclay in the squad??? Not unless a coach from outside the 6 nations “old boys network” is running the show.

  3. Gustard, agree with you there he has been harshly punished for a nothing offence, doubly so now as he would surely at least have made the bench…

  4. p.s. Have you ever wondered why the lion on the top of the shield is almost identical to the “three lions”?

  5. Well done South Africa. I’m always sorry to see the Scots, English, Welsh and Irish lose, it’s just I love seeing any would be “Brits” beaten.
