Final Scotland Team

Hadden’s gone for Hamilton, with Hines on the bench. You’ve got to feel for Ally Kellock who has dropped out of the 22 altogether despite an assured lineout performance against Italy. The other bench spot goes to Nick De Luca. Match preview to follow tomorrow if I can find the time!

  1. Rory,
can you comment on Sean Lamont’s situation? I don’t understand why he’s not in the squad. Do the management feel he needs game time? We were at Murrayfield for the Italy game and I really got the impression that Lamont could have made a big impact (perhaps even as a sub for Morrison on 60 mins).

  2. Lamont I think is a victim of the Evans-o-philia that is sweeping the nation. With Paterson slotted firmly into the full-back category, it’s really down to Danielli, Lamont and Webster for the other wing berth opposite Evans (whose pace demands inclusion). I think until Lamont scores a bit more for Saints – and he is starting to look sharp again – Danielli’s current scoring run gives him the edge. If Danielli goes off the boil as he can, I would think either one of the Lamonts would be brought back sharpish. Although I am not sure that what we need is another battering ram at 12 – it’s better running lines and distribution we need.
