Oddballs Review

Oddballs is the latest brand to dive into the busy ‘gimmick-underwear’ market with a range of eye-wateringly patterned pants for both men and women. Behind the garish designs called things like ‘digital rain’ and ‘hippy jungle’ is the unlikely trio of Steve Harper (current Hull City Goalkeeper), Paul Varley (ex-owner of Newcastle Falcons) and our own Richard Metcalfe (capped 11 times for Scotland at lock and the original ‘Too Tall’).

What they have conceived is a range of undercrackers for men and women that is both very affordable and more fun than Jim Carrey on crack. They’re also incredibly comfortable, eye-catching and seem to be quite hardwearing (I’ve yet to wear them for a game though).

But are they a realistic challenger to the Scottish-based Bawbags brand? The short answer is…yes they are. Cheaper and just as much fun they may not have the same size of range but there is clearly more to come from Oddballs in the future. Also, like Bawbags they also donate a share of every sale to charity. It the case of Oddballs it’s 10% to testicular cancer, which is a great cause and works well given the product type.

At roughly a tenner a pair with post and packaging included and a free bobble hat (or Oddle Hats as they call them) with every order before Christmas they represent really good value for money. So if you want gaudily patterned pants, which are fun, cheap and also raise money for charity Oddballs is the place for you.
