  1. Comments re Finn are really off the mark. Think there is a very small minority of people who don’t like him, and no evidence that it has anything to do with him not going to a private school. Look at the Scottish rugby players who are looked up to as heroes amongst fans and are centrepiece of SRU marketing campaigns – likes of Stuart Hogg, Jonny Gray, Darcy Graham, Grant Gilchrist, Greig Laidlaw – and none of them went to a private school: as long as they are good at rugby, noone cares. Your comments come across as deliberately divisive, separating ‘real’ and ‘fake’ Scotland rugby fans.

    1. It would appear Gregor Townsend is in the small minority who does not like Finn! What is that about !

  2. RE the pools for the Autumn Nations Cup, are the teams not drawn the way they are so that no one plays another team twice, i.e Scotland still have to play Wales in the 6 Nations and have a friendly vs Georgia so can’t play either team in the Autumn Nations Cup and that was the reason behind Fiji changing pools when Georgia replaced Japan.

    1. Perhaps, or the cynical/realistic answer might be to guarantee England v Ireland v Wales.

France v Scotland v Italy has it’s equivalent 6 Nations billing of Saturday lunchtime curtain raiser or Sunday leftovers in the context of this tournament.

I hear C4 have jumped in with terrestrial coverage of those games but not Scotland’s?

      1. RE Channel 4 – perhaps the realistic answer might be that they had an existing contract with IRFU for 3 internationals from this test window, and lo and behold a contract is being honoured.

I’m just delighted that international rugby will be back, we play Georgia, Wales, France, Italy & Fiji with a final game TBC, that’s a pretty good return. It’s not the games against NZ or South Africa we originally had planned but it’s better than nothing.

  3. I don’t get it , we are getting international rugby against sides that wont completely hump us. I am genuinely pleased , win or lose, I would prefer to win, but long past expecting. Mind you there is the risk Toony will take the chance to try out a few more combinations.

Get the games on Alba with the god of commentary Hugh Dan on the mic, give us a lift.
