So you’re panicking about Christmas presents and need some last minute Christmas present ideas for the rugby fan in your life. I’m not saying these will get to you in time, but it’s the thought that counts isn’t it?
Match Tickets

This will probably earn you the most kudos (plus you can use the excuse they haven’t posted them out yet) but hurt your wallet the most. A few upcoming fixtures that might be of interest:
1872 Cup Tickets
Scotland vs Italy (Ireland and Wales have a waiting list)
Also available: EPCR Finals at BT Murrayfield, summer rugby camps, season tickets and Murrayfield tours. There’s even a Scotland Supporters Club that gets you early access to home and away tickets. If you want to flex your financial muscles, you could look at the aftermarket for Six Nations tickets but we wouldn’t recommend it.
Finlay the Rugby Player
A children’s book with both rugby’s core values and current educational principles at its heart, written by John Goodbrand and illustrated by Mark Kirkham, The Edinburgh Sketcher. Tired of the old “Scott Johnson under the bridge” tale and need a new bedtime story for a young rugby fan? Get yours here. If they can wait that long, Edinburgh Rugby also run a “Young Gunner” Camp over the summer which you can get tickets for at the SRU Ticket Centre links above.
GHK Naked Calendar 2017
Going straight to the other end of the spectrum, our old mucker Gregor Hollerin bares (almost) all along with the GHK rugby lads and, so we hear, Sean Lamont. It’s a suggested donation of just a tenner so you can email them your details and donate via their Fundraising page here. Funds go to Beatson Cancer Charity, Breast Cancer Care and Hearts & Balls.
Rugby World Subs
The country and possibly the world’s top rugby magazine, now with regular contributions from Alan Dymock – who many of you may remember helped raise this blog up from the mire, at least for a while. They’ve usually got an offer on – currently a £5 M&S giftcard – and have digital and print subscriptions available. And yes, they let Rory scribble on their website every now and then so we are undoubtedly biased.
Oddballs
More men’s health related goodness now, with a wide variety of (borderline novelty) clothing best described as “colourful”. They’ve clothing for men, women and lads and I swear they had some tartan Scotland pants but I went colourblind looking for them.* Check them out at www.myoddballs.com.
Don’t forget to check out Brodie’s semi-regular Stash Corner articles for more ideas, or get down to FirstXV where Adam and the lads will be happy to help you pick out a new pair of boots or some flash compression base layers.
We also apologise for the lack of photos of Chunk Jacobsen as Santa, but don’t know where that piece of Photoshop magic went.
* It turns out these ones do exist but are from (similar but different) Bawbags and available through FirstXV.
