Glasgow Warriors Player Ratings from the match against Racing 92.
15. Hogg (6) – Making decent breaks, but failing to make the final pass. Can we stop him kicking goals?
14. Naiyaravoro (6) – Couple of big rumbles, but contained well.
13. Bennett (6) – Lively with ball in hand, decent showing.
12. Russell (7) – Better from the youngster. Lovely passing and creativity. Also solid in defence.
11. Lamont (4) – Legs are gone. Defensively a worry and offers very little going forward now.
10. Weir (5) – Will a game go by without him missing touch? Manned up in defence but limited.
9. Price (6) – Decent game from the only 9 in the squad.
8. Ashe (5) – Failed to make gain line too often.
7. Fusaro (5) – One good run but destroyed at the breakdown.
6. Wilson (6) – Better showing. Usual physicality plus some sensible play with ball in hand.
5. Gray (6) – Carried well, tackled well but unable to stop the rolling maul at source.
4. Nakarawa (5) – Mixed bag from Leone. Opposition seem savvy to his game now. Good try though.
3. Fagerson (7) – Scrums went well and he rampaged about in the loose. My Glasgow MotM.
2. MacArthur (6) – Decent return after injury.
1. Reid (6) – Good in defence, scrum went well and willing carrier.
Subs
16. Brown (5) – Hit line outs but not much else.
17. Allan (5) – Not as solid in set piece but game was well gone by time he arrived.
18. Puafisi (5) – Read Allan – no real impact.
19. Peterson (4) – The USA international looked off the pace and fumbled a couple of balls. Poor.
20. Blake (6) – The more I see Shug the more I like him. Clever player with some decent breaks.
21. Jones (4) – Struggles for space in 15 a side and was often swamped, running backwards.
22. Johnson (3) – Only on for 7 mins. Can only remember him being smashed into touch.
23. Bryce (4) – Not yet a player for this level – he was up against Imhoff though.
Overall – Racing were poor for 60 minutes but did enough in 20 minutes of powerful play to destroy the Warriors’ chances. I am thinking of just saving ‘Glasgow fail to deal with the rolling maul’ as a template for future posts…
