Rory Lawson has been given the nod at 9 for Scotland, presumably to bring some Cusiter-style nuggetry to the half-backs in a side that is otherwise pretty similar to the sort we saw throughout the Six Nations. Moray Low comes in for the injured Euan Murray, while Al Kellock will lead the team in his usual abrasive style, one can only hope. I would also hope that Jim Thompson gets a shot late on, his lines of running could be helpful against an Argentina team that may tire a little. Of course, so could the Scots, but with a season shorn of knockout European rugby or Lions involvement (except for Ford) they shouldn’t be as tired as the Pumas many of whom have been involved in the usually punishing Top 14 or indeed Leicester’s GP title-winning campaign. I think with the “don’t turn up” game against Japan cleverly out of the way, Scotland should be able to at least compete with the Argies and hopefully convert a few scoring chances to get a win, possibly two.

A very good for Scotland today in Argentina. The only Northern team to not get drawn and quartered by Southern opposition this weekend.
