2012 Six Nations Referee Appointments
It’s our old mucker George. And yes, we do have Alain Rolland as well…
It’s our old mucker George. And yes, we do have Alain Rolland as well…
Well it might not be mammoth, as it’s all in the past now isn’t it and we want to start looking forward to the World Cup, but it will be woolly. Here we look back at the feast of um, something, that was Six Nations 2011.
In which we take a look at the final weekend of the Six Nations, 2011 style. More round-up and end of term type nonsense coming soon.
We’ll be back later in the week with our Week 5 Six nations round up and a look back at the tournament as a whole, but for now here is injury information on our battered team hot of the SRU Presses.
Keep track of our thoughts on the days action.
Murrayfield: 4.00pm. We will know by then if Scotland have beaten the Italians at home and handed them the wooden spoon.

Once again we sat down to discuss the latest Six Nations happenings, with no-less cheer than usual but possibly a little extra in the way of satisfaction after a heartening display from Scotland and a heart-warming performance by Italy.
From the SRU, an injury update for Scotland. Our weekend round-up will follow in the next day or two before the build-up to the final game with Italy.
On Sunday at 3pm there will be a meeting between two teams desperate to win. The only problem is that one team is eying a grand slam and the other team doesn’t want to get splinters in its hands…
Sorry I’ve been a bit slack on the Calcutta Cup build up duties this week, but there has been plenty back and forth on Twitter and I’ve got a wee piece going up on the ESPN fanzone shortly. All I will say is I hope the boys put in a top performance on Sunday and if they can manage that, then anything is possible! Also you really should check out A.D’s article below “Arrested Development” about the Under 20s which has attracted a fair bit of new comment.
Joe Ansbro and Rory Lawson have been restored to the back division while Simon Danielli comes in at the expense of Nikki Walker. Ruaridh Jackson retains his place at 10 as does “You Shall Not Pass” Sean Lamont at 12 – his new nickname could be Gandalf.
(now updated with England team)
Greetings, readers. Ahead of the big cross-border clash that is sure to have the tinpot nationalists out in force this weekend, regular correspondent for The Rugby Blog Christine Lester writes in with an Englishwoman’s view of her first trip to Murrayfield for the Ireland game. Christine is based in Glasgow, and we hope she may be able to give us some more coverage from that end of the country in future. Over to Christine!
As Scotland braces itself for the trip to ‘Rugby HQ’ it is perhaps a time to look to the future before we all head down to the fallout shelter at the foot of the garden. You know, the one with no TV, a pile of national newspapers outside it and the Jonno-proof door…
Rory, Al and A.D sat down to discuss the most recent events in the 2011 Six Nations. After some cheap flirting, too much wine and a taxi ride home no-one remembers, the following is what was left on the doorstep some time later.
